National Cadet Corps

            With the motto of Unity and Discipline, the NCC strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from diverse parts of the country and moulding them into united, secular and disciplined citizens of the nation. NCC aims at developing discipline, character, brotherhood, spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst the cadets. Not only this, it also aims to enlighten leadership qualities among the cadets empowering them to serve the nation regardless of the career they choose.

            At ASP College, boy's enrollment started from academic year 2016-17 with addition of girl's enrollment from 2019-20. Presently, 50 naval wing cadets (33 boys and 17 girls) are being trained under 2 MAH NAVAL UNIT NCC, Ratnagiri and another 54 army wing cadets (36 girls and 18 boys) are being trained under 58 MAH Bn NCC, Sindhudurg.

            In the first year, cadets undergo institutional training consisting of NCC orientation, basic discipline, physical fitness, drill. From the second year, they get opportunities to participate in various camps, events and competitions organized at Group, Directorate, National as well as International levels. These camps and competitions shape their personality and build solid confidence in them. Here is when the cadets appear for NCC ‘B certificate’ examination. In the third year, the cadets enter a management role. They are assigned various administrative and leadership roles and responsibilities during NCC activities so as to develop character and leadership qualities. In this year, they appear for NCC ‘C certificate’ examination.
