            Devrukh Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (DSPM) was founded with the commencement of New English School, Devrukh, in the year 1927. This establishment of DSPM, further on, led to the opening of Athalye-Sapre-Pitre (ASP) College in 1972 with a vision to provide higher education to the youth of Sangmeshwar Tehsil at minimal cost. I am delighted to take you on a journey through the remarkable history and achievements of DSPM's ASP college; a true beacon of education since its inception.

            Our story begins with offering only two Bachelor's programs in Arts and Commerce. Notably, the college's commitment to academic excellence was evident from the start. This commitment was explored when the college led to the commencement of the first Ph.D. program in Marathi. Over the years, our institution has evolved and grown, cementing its reputation as a center of excellence in education. We are proud to have been recognized with the University of Mumbai’s Best College Award, Best NSS Award, Best Principal Award, and many more. The NAAC accredits the college with an 'A' grade in the third cycle of accreditation. The Government of Maharashtra honored us with the prestigious 'Jagar Janivancha Award for notable work in gender sensitization, consecutively for two years, 2014 - 15 and 2015-16.

            In the spirit of innovation and academic diversity, we expanded our offerings by introducing the B.Sc. program in Computer Science in 2005, followed by the inclusion of B.Sc. in general education (natural science) in 2009. These additions marked significant milestones in our college's journey, reflecting our commitment to staying at the forefront of educational trends. Our students have excelled in all spheres of activities conducted by the University of Mumbai.

            A crowning achievement came in 2019 when our college attained autonomy, a testament to our unwavering dedication to delivering high-quality education. It is important to note that we maintain our affiliation with the prestigious University of Mumbai, ensuring that we remain deeply rooted in the rich tradition of higher education.

            Currently, our college boasts a diverse array of academic programs, including Bachelor's programs in vocational education and Master's programs in Physics, Chemistry, and Geography. We, also, take immense pride in facilitating Ph.D. programs in Physics, Chemistry, and Geography, demonstrating our commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering groundbreaking research.

            The College continues to thrive as an institution of excellence. Our mission remains focused on shaping the future of our students and the broader community by providing a nurturing environment that encourages academic growth, research, and holistic development. From the academic year 2023-24, the college has accepted and adopted the NEP-2020. I am sure that this multi-disciplinary approach to the curriculum will, definitely, encourage students to explore the range of subjects and develop their cognitive, creative, and social skills.

            We are honored to be a part of this remarkable journey, and we look forward to the promising path that lies ahead. We are, here, to serve and support the pursuit of knowledge and education.
